This evergreen naturally grows as a broadly rounded mound, and keeps its leaves all the way to the ground for the lush, dense look you love. 

An extremely hardy late-blooming male holly with dense, rich green foliage on an upright, rounded form. It does not set fruit but serves as an excellent pollenizer for late-flowering female southern hollies, such as Sparkleberry, Winter Red, and Winter Gold. Plant one male for every five female plants. A wonderful background shrub. Deciduous.

Small white blooms produce bright red fruit in fall, providing vivid winter color on bare stems. Plant a late-blooming male pollenizer such as Southern Gentleman Winterberry nearby for berry production. Use as foundation color or in the back of a border for seasonal interest. This fine holly is the male pollinator for China Girl.  Use 1 male for up to 5 females.  Can be planted several hundred feet away and still pollinate the females.  Fine evergreen for shadier areas.

This diminutive 4-6'' native Iris thrives in lightly shaded gardens. Light blue flowers with fringed yellow or white crests appear in early spring.
