About Greenfield Plant Farm

Greenfield Plant Farm is a first generation family business started in 1990 at the Maineville location on Stephens Rd. Beginning in polyhuts #1 and #2 with 30 varieties/cultivars of perennials and the help of a gentle elderly lady named Grace Cady plants were grown and sold wholesale to local Garden Centers. Each year we built a few more polyhuts and added to our perennial plant collection. Before long we gained a reputation as a perennial plant specialist as we pursued our mission to seek out new cultivars and to produce and evaluate the new against the time tested perennials. As houses started to spring up in Warren County and people stopped in the nursery looking for plants we soon started our retail sales in 1994 as a local grower concentrating on plants. By 2003 our perennial listing had grown to over 1800 varieties/cultivars and we opened a second retail site in Anderson Township at the corner of Clough and Hunley.

2008 brings us to our 18th year in business. A lot has changed since those early days. A lot of plants have been grown and found homes in the Cincinnati area. Our Greenfield family has grown a lot too both in staff and friends that appear each spring as soon as the Virginia blue bells are blooming. As the founder of the business I reflect often how the success of any enterprise is a direct result of many people through the years. Many persons have served on the staff of this nursery and contributed their skills through the years. The loyal customers that are the life blood of any local business we are eternally indebted to.

As much as we are thankful for the past that has brought us to the present, we look forward to the future as we make changes that keeps us vibrant and cutting edge.

While we continue our quest of offering a very extensive line of perennials, we are branching out into the colorful world of annuals. We seek to find the great local annual performers and try out the newest introductions. Tomatoes have become a sort of passion around here too, as we collect information on the best tasting varieties that can be found. We will continue to add to our shrub and ornamental tree offerings as we scour the best plants for the tristate area.

What else can I tell you about us? We like plants; we are constantly learning about plants and like to share what we know with you. We strive to grow and offer the best in quality, and we strive to treat all our customers as family. We believe that good hearted people plant plants and we want you to be successful with each investment you make in your garden and the beauty you create or give to someone.
