About Greenfield Plant Farm

Celebrating our 20th year!

In 1990 on a rural road in Warren County, we spotted a green field for sale that was pasture for the cows of the Clem Hutzel Farm, and knew that this was the spot for a vision to be acted on.  Beginning in polyhuts #1 and #2 with 30 varieties/cultivars of perennials and the help of a gentle elderly lady named Grace Cady plants were grown and sold wholesale to local Garden Centers. It did not take long before the collection of perennials began to grow and Greenfield Plant Farm developed a reputation as a perennial plant specialist selling to local garden centers and landscapers.  In 1994, with Warren County already in a growth mode, we started our retail sales on Stephens Rd.  It was a hardy group of staff and customers that seemed not to be dissuaded by the outhouse or primitive structures in their pursuit and passion of unique plants.  By 2003 our plant list had grown to over 2000 different cultivars/varieties of perennials offered. We also expanded into the world of annuals, and container trees and shrubs.  It was then we opened our second retail location at Clough and Hunley in Anderson Township.  While our plant offerings have expanded well beyond just perennials, our intention of making plants the main focus of our business has always remained.  We believe in the value of creating and nurturing beauty on our fragile planet. The experience of tending and enjoying a garden at your own home brings together so many lessons of life that we share together.  It is indeed a privilege to partner with so many staff and patrons over the years that share such a feeling.  As we look to the future at Greenfield Plant Farm we recommit ourselves to the core principles that have been at the heart of what we strive for: selection, quality, value, and service.

We give our sincere thanks to all those who have traveled a path to Greenfield Plant Farm.  You are the reason for our success in celebrating 20 years of providing beautiful plants to beautiful people.
